The six-week in-depth course in knitwear design focused on the theme of heritage. The aim was to design an outfit that tells an independent story and to realize this using the semi-automatic knitting machine. As part of this project, I dealt intensively with the themes of femininity, female symbolism and patriarchal historiography, with female menstruation being a central motif in my work. During my research, I examined the significance of this topic in the Christian and Jewish religions. This led to an expanded area of interest: the snake and its connection to femininity. Both topics have negative connotations in different cultural and religious contexts.
